Joe Rogan Slams Government Pressure on ABC, Warns Conservatives Celebrating Jimmy Kimmel’s Suspension

AUSTIN, TX – Joe Rogan, host of the world’s most popular podcast, has weighed in on the controversial suspension of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” unequivocally defending the late-night host’s right to free speech and issuing a stark warning to those on the right celebrating the move.

On a recent episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Rogan addressed the decision by ABC to suspend Kimmel’s show following pressure from government officials and affiliate broadcasters over comments Kimmel made about the murder of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.

“I definitely don’t think that the government should be involved, ever, in dictating what a comedian can or cannot say in a monologue,” Rogan stated emphatically. “That’s f**king crazy.”

Kimmel’s show was taken off the air for nearly a week after FCC Chairman Brendan Carr suggested ABC and its affiliates could face repercussions, including fines or license revocation, for the host’s remarks. While Kimmel has since returned to the air, the incident sparked a massive debate about censorship and political influence over the media.

Rogan, a figure who often aligns with conservative viewpoints and endorsed Donald Trump, directed a significant portion of his commentary towards Kimmel’s right-leaning critics who cheered the suspension.

“If people on the right are like, ‘Yeah, go get him,’ oh, my God. You’re crazy,” Rogan warned. “You’re crazy for supporting this because this will be used on you.” He argued that allowing the government to pressure networks into silencing voices sets a dangerous precedent that will inevitably be turned against all sides of the political spectrum.

Rogan also predicted that the attempt to de-platform the late-night host would ultimately backfire. “I certainly think that for Jimmy Kimmel, all this does is help him,” he said. “It makes his show bigger, much more support.”

In his first monologue back on air, Kimmel thanked his supporters and specifically mentioned those, like Rogan, who disagreed with his politics but defended his right to express them. “A government threat to silence a comedian the president doesn’t like is anti-American,” Kimmel said. “I am so glad we have some solidarity on that, from the right and the left and those in the middle like Joe Rogan.”
